British Heritage

The BritishHeritage.org seeks to recognize individuals who have attained excellence and international renown in their chosen professional fields, and whose actions, in addition to their achievements, embody the character of the British people through commitment to British values, the British community and/or to Great Britain. Beyond demonstrated qualities of achievement and commitment, the BritishHeritage.org serves to recognize the British Heritage contribution to the betterment of mankind.

Welcome to the British Heritage project.

William Shakespeare once wrote,  “The evil that men do, lives after them. the good, is often interred with their bones”. and indeed, "You’re only as good, as your last performance." which is often never the best.

This is an injustice, that the British Heritage project has come to correct, because people deserve to be remembered, for giving of their very best, and for the good that they blessed society with. not just what they did last, or wrong.

The British Heritage website seeks to recognize individuals who have attained excellence and international renown, in their chosen professional fields, and whose actions, in addition to their achievements, embody the character of the British people through commitment to British values, the British community and, or, to Great Britain.

Beyond demonstrated qualities of achievement and commitment, the British Heritage website, serves to recognize the British Heritage contribution, to the betterment of mankind.

The British Heritage site brings together all the tremendous contributions of so many outstanding Britons from all walks of life, to all of humanity, in one place.

Each and every one of the personalities mentioned in the British Heritage site, demonstrates their tremendous achievements and as a collective, provides a huge, highly impressive picture of cultural, scientific and historical richness in so many and varied fields that have advanced and benefited the entire human race.

This is Britain's true greatness. These are the people who made Britain so great.

A nation is never a product of one person, great and important as he or she may have been.

A nation is also not only a product of a small elitist group of people who contributed to its success.

Over many decades ago, Winston Churchill came up with a definition of success that integrates both sides of the coin. It remains one of the most ingenious explanations of the concept ever put to words. "Success consists of going from failure to failure, without loss of enthusiasm."

Therefore a nation is not the collection of failures, mishaps and wrongdoings that some of its people have done along the way, but, all the good things that they have contributed to building the nation's heritage, and that's what made Britain so great, following Richard Branson advice, "Do not be embarrassed by your failures, learn from them and move forward.”

A nation is the sum of all the people who have contributed to its heritage.

A nation is the accumulation of the very many important deeds and achievements, from every sphere of life, throughout all the years of the nation's history.

The British Heritage project help us to Focus on the big picture. an eagle view on all what made Britain great again, and again and again.

This British Heritage website does not claim to be 'sensationalist'.

There are almost no scoops here, and there is very little original content here. We owe the main thanks and credit for the content to Google, Wikipedia, encyclopedias, reference books and the dynamic, rich and free British press.

The power of the British Heritage website is not focused on the originality or innovation of each and every person mentioned on the website, but in the accumulation of the known details which have been published separately in the past, now collated into one big picture of its British context, This is the real meaning of "The sum is greater than the parts".

The content on the site has been collected, edited and produced by two old friends with such different world views:

One, Vincent, a British patriot who is consistently so proud of his homeland, his people and his culture.

Vincent enthusiastically accepted the invitation of the non-British website founder, Eric, to collect, edit, collate and co-produce the British Heritage website together. Eric had previously only been critical of many of the least positive things in Britain's past, and it "had a few, too few to mention".

But this website designed to highlight the achievements and not the failures that were on the road to Britain's success. The context is to illuminate the positives of this great nation, within the caveat of the current 'cancel-culture'.

The results are here before you.

The project gave Vincent even more reasons and validation to be even more proud of the heritage of his Great Britain. And even more importantly, it also made Eric appreciate and agree that the positive and significant impact that so many Britons from all walks of life have had, far outweigh any negativity or the one-dimensional perception he had of Britain.

The British Heritage is a Work in progress.

This site is incomplete and, naturally, will never be completed, because almost every day, a new British achievement is added to the world. So Britain's Heritage will continue to reinvent itself for many more generations to come, which justifies an update of the existing riches and adding new strands which are constantly evolving.

We continue to add entries to the site, refining the existing entries and exploring further options to demonstrate the glorious British Heritage as it richly deserves.

So please join us, and Get involved.

Everyone is invited to comment, contribute and help us enrich the content on this site, with more and more new entries, adding to and improving the existing content.

If you are British, this site brings together all the good reasons you definitely have for being proud to be British, as the important contributions your people have made to all of humanity, is unparalleled.

And, if you are not British, the content on this site will help you learn to appreciate the tremendous contribution that the British have had on the whole world, and enable you to comprehend that all of the positive things that the British nation has contributed to humanity are far greater than any criticisms one may make.

Yours faithfully,

Eric and Vincent,
The British Heritage project.
